Total revenue increased 5% in 2020, with strong parcels performance offsetting the accelerated decline in transactional and admail demand.

Total mail volumes dropped by more than a fifth, with admail volumes falling by over a quarter. Meanwhile, parcel volumes increased by 31%, driving a 25% increase in parcels revenue. To meet capacity demand, Canada Post invested in new automated sorting lines and began work on a new hub capable of sorting 1m items per day when complete in 2022. For last-mile delivery success, the post added around 3,700 new terminals to its residential locker network, taking the total network to almost 13,000 terminals.
