Strong domestic parcels growth in the first half of the year, as well as inclusion of full-year results for subsidiary Aras Kargo drove a 16% increase in revenue for Österreichische Post in 2021.

Across domestic and international operations, the post delivered 435m parcels in 2021, of which just two fifths were domestic items. E-commerce demand drove an 11% increase in domestic volumes for the year. Meanwhile, volumes for Aras Kargo grew moderately in the year, although the subsidiary added €291m to group revenue, equating to more than 80% of total revenue growth for the year.

 

Revenue growth was sufficient to offset a 15% increase in operating costs in 2021, with the post seeing its EBIT margin rise slightly. It forecasts stable revenue and profitability 2022, as a result of the strong performance in the prior year.
